Public Engagement has been a cornerstone of the Peace River Nuclear Power Project from the very beginning.
Energy Alberta is committed to building meaningful, long-term relationships with residents, local governments, businesses, community organizations and other interested groups through honest, respectful and ongoing dialogue.
The goal is to share information, answer questions and better understand local priorities, concerns and opportunities.
These conversations help inform Project planning, while also supporting long-term partnerships and local economic participation.

Engagement is not a one-time activity - it is a commitment to listening, learning and building relationships that will continue throughout every stage of the Project.
Whether through public information sessions, workshops, community events or the federal Impact Assessment process, we are committed to creating practical and accessible ways for people to ask questions, share feedback and stay informed.
Meaningful engagement takes many forms. From community events and public information sessions to workshops and opportunities to participate in the regulatory process, we are committed to creating accessible, respectful and inclusive ways for people to learn about the Project, ask questions and share their perspectives. Every conversation helps us better understand local priorities and informs Project planning.
Energy Alberta is hosting focused workshops and meetings tailored to specific groups and interests. These sessions are designed to support deeper conversations, explore specific aspects of the Project and gather meaningful feedback, ideas and local perspectives will inform impact assessment and project planning.
Public information sessions provide open forums where residents can learn about the Project, upcoming milestones, timelines and next steps. These events create opportunities to connect directly with the Project team, ask questions and share feedback in an open and respectful environment.
Attending local events, festivals and gatherings is an important part of our engagement approach. By meeting people where they are, Energy Alberta aims to create approachable and informal opportunities for community members to learn about the Project, speak with the team and share what matters to them.
Public participation is an important part of the federal review process. The Government of Canada is seeking input through comment periods, hearings, information sessions and other initiatives. There is a Public Participation Plan outlining how people can get involved, including opportunities to provide feedback on how engagement should occur.
We are committed to supporting the people and communities connected to the Project. Guided by collaboration, respect and shared value, our goal is to contribute to initiatives that have a positive impact across the Peace Region.
